Most rooms have balconies overlooking the ocean, the pool or the lagoon. Some rooms do not have balconies so be sure to request one! And, go for the ocean view, it's definitely the most breathtaking. And, what was that about the most comfortable beds? How about pillow-top mattresses and a specialized menu from which you may choose your ideal type of pillow? Now that's what I call a siesta! If you want the best the Omni has to offer - reserve one of their Presidential Suites. With a living room, dining room, two bathrooms, a Jacuzzi, balconies and master bedroom, you'll truly feel spoiled. The Omni offers your choice of an all-inclusive package or a pay-as-you-go option. Since things can get pricey in Cancun, with a bottle of soda costing $3.00 and local restaurants charging an arm and a leg for a decent meal, the all-inclusive package is the way to go. Although slightly higher priced than some other all-inclusives, the Omni's package provides more bang for your buck. You can dine at all three restaurants including La Paloma Mexican Bistro, the Poolside Bar and Grille and an up-scale Italian restaurant called Da Vinci's. The package includes top-shelf liquor and bottled beer (the brands you know and love - not the no-name booze from local distilleries that leave your head spinning and your gut rebelling that you will get at most other all-inclusives). Your package also includes in-room maid service twice a day, use of the gym, non-motorized water sports and room service up to three times per day! The in-room mini bar is not included and it can be quite pricey so go for room service instead.
Many fans of the Omni return year after year. They love the five-star amenities balanced with a friendly, accommodating staff and casual ambiance. La Paloma is a favorite for dining on the beach at sunset while sipping a tropical drink with your toes in the silky, soft sand. Breakfast at La Paloma is excellent and the waffles are highly recommended. Guests are surprised that the up-scale Da Vinci's Italian Restaurant is part of the all-inclusive package where the food and dining experience are exceptional. Although you are required to dress (no jeans or T-shirts), it's perfect for a very romantic evening or celebration. The Poolside Bar and Grill has tasty, casual fare - and the pizza is fantastic. The lobby bar is cozy and air conditioned with comfy furniture and live entertainment nightly - although some guests wish the singing duet would vary their act for a bit more variety.
If you choose to leave the resort, there's no need to hail a cab or get a rental car. There is a bus station right outside of the Hotel that runs 24/7. Most buses cost .65 cents to go downtown and there are some newer, blue buses that are air conditioned and cost $1.00.
Some guests choose to sign up for the Select Guest Program via Omni's website which entitles members to terry robes, nightly turndown service, free morning beverages delivered to your room at a specified time and occasional upgrades or 50% off coupons.
